Federal office investigating claims that Framingham elementary school failed to provide interpreters and other translation services to Spanish-speaking parents.

FRAMINGHAM- The U.S. Education Department's Office for Civil Rights is investigating claims of discrimination at Barbieri Elementary School, according to several people with knowledge of the case. Laura Edwards, a supervising attorney with MetroWest Legal Services in Framingham, said the federal office has been looking into claims that the school failed to provide interpreters and other translation services to Spanish-speaking parents.
